To make a wireless connection on the laptop, follow the steps below: * Set a gateway in order to connect your system to internet. * Go to the Start menu and select Control Panel. * In the Control Panel, click Wireless Network Connection and click the icon Network Connections. * Right click Wireless Network Connection and click Properties. * Click the Wireless Networks tab and then click the Add button. The Wireless Network Properties dialog box appears. * In the Wireless Network Properties dialog box, specify the SSID (Service Set Identifier). * Fill rest of the information related to gateway or the authentication details. * Click OK.

After this go to wireless gateway's configuration tool and select disable SSID broadcast. By doing this nobody can see your network.
